The lecture theatre allows sunlight to pass through its glass wall and creates an invisible bond between the individuals inside with the outside world. Additionally, the arrangement of the seats provide strong interactions between the seated students and the lecturer.

The shape of the bridge is similar to a boat; utilizing the wind and sea to propel itself forward. Poles support the structure and additionally, holds up the sails which serve as sources of shade. There is plenty of space for individuals to marvel at the view or converse with each other.

When observing the bridge from outside, it looks as if the bridge is moving along the road lie it is riding a sea of cars. This motion seems everlasting and inspires observers to keep moving. It further reinforces the feeling when seeing someone off where individuals strongly express their connections with each other.

The height of the tower purposely points upwards towards the sun to allow people to appreciate the sun. There are wings on each side which move when there is strong wind. This makes the building seem as if it was moving and gives individuals a topic to talk about when they interact.

There are lights under the bridge that creates a connection with the cars by providing them with lighting. The sandy pattern underneath creates imagery as if the cars are driving underneath the bridge like fishes.

EXP 3 Mashup article

Mashup

I don’t want ordinary people to think architects only ever propose weird, non-functional and absurd design. We shape our architecture to goals with high levels of interconnectedness. In soliciting extravagant designs, they inevitably solicit extravagant public expenditure.

We live in an era that elevates openness and connections. We want our lives to be full of experience and information. With cost-effective software and hardware, and the collaborative possibility given by the internet and social media, the creation of exquisite, evocative, often atmospheric imagery can be made that communicates the mood, the experience, the visceral feel of the design.

Daylight improves learning in school, improves productivity in workplaces, and improves psychological wellbeing nearly everywhere. Workplaces provide plentiful opportunities for meaningful interactions where daylight brings dynamism to static structure, imbuing buildings with a sense of time.
